WWE 2K14 Cover Art and Contest Unveiled

/ Jun 25th, 2013 No Comments

WWE 2K14

The WWE 2K14 cover art and the first trailer for the game were revealed by 2K Games and the WWE during an episode of the long-running WWE series RAW. 2K also announced a contest will be held to determine which wrestler will be featured on an alternate cover for the game.

As previously announced, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will appear on the cover of WWE 2K14. The iconic wrestler will be featured in one of his signature poses on WWE 2K14 box art.

2K is offering artistically inclined fans a chance to have their artwork appear on an alternate cover of the game. Players can visit the contest’s official website at wwe.2k.com/covercontest to download images of their favorite WWE superstars or divas for use on their own custom cover art. Artwork must be shared on Twitter using the hashtag #WWE2K14Cover for entry into the contest.

The winning design will appear on the inside cover of retail versions of WWE 2K14, which can be flipped around for use as an alternate cover. The winner and one runner-up will also receive a free copy of the game. U.S. residents who submit their entry by midnight July 23 will be eligible to win.

As part of the cover reveal, a teaser trailer for WWE 2K14 was shown during the WWE event. The minute-long trailer mostly consists of real-life footage but does feature small bits of gameplay. Gamers watching the trailer are invited to become a WWE star and make their way to legend.

Superstars and legends appearing both physically and digitally in the trailer include John Cena, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shawn Micheals, Dolph Ziggler, Macho Man Randy Savage and Ryback. They are the first confirmed wrestlers on the game’s roster.

WWE 2K14 is set to release Oct. 29 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
