World of WarCraft Cataclysm Box (with Video)

The World of WarCraft Cataclysm retail box has some of the best artwork done to date by Blizzard Entertainment for a retail release of a PC game.
The size of the box is the standard now set for the video game industry. It is primarily dark in color and features artwork on all sides. The front of the box from the top down states Expansion Set then underneath shows the new World of WarCraft Cataclysm logo. Below the log we see the evil dragon Deathwing with fire all around him. He appears to be rather upset (perhaps he needs to get a new game time code for WoW?) and his tongue of fire is breathing flames. He is inside a circular stone border that has rune carvings inside and at the bottom, it appears his massive arms are breaking the seal open.
The game is rated T for Teen by the ESRB and the box states that World of WarCraft Cataclysm requires full versions of World of WarCraft, The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King to play. In addition, Internet connection is require and additional online fees apply. You will also be required to register at Battle.net. To stamp home the fact that you need all the previous expansions to play this one, there’s a nice sticker with the Storm King logo on the front that says “Request Wrath of the Lich King Expansion” so that there’s no mistake about it.
The sides of the box have the logo and also show that Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Macintosh are supported and inside is a DVD-ROM.
Opening the front cover we see the usual Velcro three page wrap. The first two pages show a Worgen, a new playable race, holding a dagger inside a forest that is on fire. On the right side you see a Horde banner amid this forest of fire and lava with the words “There Can Be No Peace…” above a tree.
Opening it further, it reveals a scene of Goblins (the other new playable race) rushing in ready to fight the Worgen. The words “…When The World is Devoured By Rage.” complete the thought on the previous page. There are four screenshots on this two-length page, showing the goblin driving a race car, a character flying on a magic carpet, a major ship battle and a picture of the Dragonqueen fighting Deathwing.
On the back there are four more screenshots, the first is of a large Undead character about to cast a spell. The other screenshots include scenes of a party fighting a giant green boss creature, a Worgen fighting a Goblin and a shot of the prisons of the Elemental Lords.
The headlines for the paragraphs on the back of the box state, “A New Age Has Begun”, “Discover a World Transformed”, “Level 85 Awaits”, “Battle as Worgen or Goblin” and “Conquer the Elemental Planes“.
Overall, the box is pretty darn sexy and offers some terrific artwork and game shots that would force any red blooded gamer to immediately purchase it no matter what. Once again we see Blizzard’s amazing artwork do a great job with the retail box for the final expansion set for World of WarCraft.
