World of Tanks, the popular free to play team-based MMO action game, has unveiled Update 8.0, according to developer Wargaming.net in an announcement made less than 24 hours ago.
It has not be announced when the update will be released, but you can count on Wargaming to drape a giant release date banner across a Panzer IV and roll it over some tiny village while decimating a countryside. Kidding! Even though that is an unlikely reveal for the 8.0 release date, MMO and tank lovers can still get excited about this upcoming update overhaul.
The 8.0 update will offer a lot of new features for tank frenzied fans. Sergey Burkatovsky, the lead producer for this award winning MMO, remarked that “the improvements and enhancements will really change the way players experience World of Tanks.” Mr. Burkatovsky is probably referring to the revamped game engine. This strengthened engine will support polished game rendering as well as realistic tank movements and physics. Now when you steamroll your M4 Sherman through a puddle it will shadow, splash, and create water ripples. If that weren’t driving you wild already, you can customize the hell out of your battle machine with emblems and inscriptions or conspicuously cover it in camouflage. More so, if you feel like the 150 tank options for personalization are not enough, you’re in for a real treat because Wargaming reports that there’s going to be MORE TANKS.
New Soviet models like the SU-122-54, SU-100M-1, Urlamash-1, and Object 263 have all been reported as tank additions. The British will also get the medium infantry tank Matilda Black Prince to squash and blow up enemy destroyers. Wargaming prides itself on being historically accurate and detailed with their virtual tanks, so it’s likely these new tanks won’t fail to impress. With so much armored vehicle availability, you have a diverse selection of how to best annihilate your foes. Mini-maps, battle modes, and tech tree interfaces have also been tuned to foster better gameplay experience.
Any of the vehicles and weapons in the game can be tried out by gamers thanks to what Wargaming.net calls a flexible system of authentic upgrades. If you want to be mobile and utilize fast, but light tanks, plenty of those are available. At the same time, giant tanks are also available to blow away opposing armed forces. At the same time you can be a heavy sniper with long-range howitzers to blow the competition into smithereens.
Remember, the update for World of Tanks may provide better, more realistic gameplay but this team-based MMO will still require a lot of collaborative strategy.
