World of Tanks Introduces Browser Game

World of Tanks Generals

Wargaming has announced World of Tanks Generals, a free-to-play, browser-based MMO collectible card game.

The online game combines elements of real-time strategy and collectible card gameplay. It will feature four nations at the time of launch. The U.S.A., U.S.S.R., France, and Germany will be the nations included.

World of Tanks Generals will focus on World War II. It will allow gamers to engage in strategic combat using various military units including tanks, artillery and infantry. For advanced gameplay options, players will be able to research and purchase new technology such as new tanks and units.

The game will feature several solo and multiplayer game modes based on historical battles and events. New players can hone their skills in tutorial missions and single player battles against computer-controlled enemies. More advanced players can take on other competitors in player-vs-player matches or start their own historical campaign. Gamers can also take part in team-based games by joining clans or tournaments to asset control of the global map.

Players will have over 220 unique cards at their disposal, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. In addition to tanks, artillery and infantry, the game contains special bonus cards that grant additional firepower or defense.
Game information will be linked to a World of Tanks account through Wargaming.net. For World of Tanks players, a familiar system for research and unlocking new technology and unit cards will be integrated with the game. It will help provide an easy to understand system for players of all skill levels.

No installing or additional game client will be necessary for the game because it is browser based. It is available through any browswer, either PC, laptop or tablet. Players will be able to start a game on one platform and finish it on another. The only thing necessary is a connection to the Internet.

World of Tanks Generals will also be available as a card-based strategy board game.
