World of Tanks Blitz

World of Tanks Blitz is a free-to-play mobile massively multiplayer online (MMO) action game in the World of Tanks franchise coming to tablets and smartphones, Wargaming announced.

Inspired by the popular PC version of World of Tanks, World of Tanks Blitz brings the action, teamwork and strategy of the original to an experience specifically designed for mobile devices.

World of Tanks Blitz will include the U.S., Germany, the U.S.S.R. and several other nations. The game will also feature a variety of vehicles, including medium tanks, heavy tanks and tank destroyers. Like the PC counterpart, each tank will have its own unique attributes.

Wargaming says the game will deliver highly-polished graphics and realistic physics. Matches, shorter than the PC version, will feature 7-on-7 Player vs Player combat.

The game is designed to take advantage of touchscreen technology, allowing players to use their thumbs along with their minds in battle.

“With World of Tanks Blitz we’re doing our best to give players a gaming experience that would rival anything they could find on a console,” Victor Kislyi, CEO of Wargaming said in a press release. “We’ve always been committed to bringing World of Tanks to new platforms and we’re excited to give players a chance to experience the game in a whole new way.”

Wargaming previously announced World of Tanks Generals, a free-to-play, browser-based MMO collectible card game. With the announcement of World of Tanks Blitz, the company is obviously looking to expand on the World of Tanks universe. All World of Tanks games will work with the Wargaming.net service, which connects all game under a single login system. The service is expected to launch soon.

World of Tanks Blitz will be playable on a wide range of Android and iOS devices.
