Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, a prequel to 2014’s Wolfenstein: The New Order, will release May 5, publisher Bethesda Softworks announced.
The game, being developed by MachineGames, will follow The New Order’s main character B.J. Blazkowicz in the months leading up to the events of the first game. In a two-part mission — “Rudi Jäger and the Den of Wolves” and “The Dark Secrets of Helga Von Schabbs” — Blazkowicz heads to Castle Wolfenstein to take on the Nazis.
In addition to new missions, the game will feature new enemies and weapons.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood will be a standalone downloadable game and will not require that players own The New Order. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC for a price of $19.99.
A gameplay trailer for the game can be viewed below.

Wolfenstein: The New Order was a surprisingly good first-person shooter, so Bethesda is coming back for more. The standalone digital title could attract new players and lead them to playing The New Order if they missed out.
