Watch Dogs

Watch Dogs gameplay will be getting some exclusive content on Sony consoles when the game releases. This exclusive gameplay for Watch Dogs will only be available on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game. Ubisoft also revealed a new trailer for the game titled “DedSec” during Sony’s Gamescom conference. Since its reveal during E3 2012, Ubisoft has focused on Watch Dogs whenever they have shown off the game. After that initial debut, the game has been passionately followed by many gamers looking for the next unique open-world experience. The Assassin’s Creed franchise has had an obvious influence on the game, which should come as no surprise considering Ubisoft is behind both series. But in 2012, the new video game IP Watch Dogs represented something fresh in an industry that was showing its age, and in a time where many were clamoring for the arrival of next-gen consoles. As a new and slightly futuristic take on Chicago, Watch Dogs felt modern but it also hinted at the amazing possibilities of what is to come.

Watch Dogs Gameplay

On the PS4, Watch Dogs gameplay has taken on a life of its own. Showed off at the PS4 debut in February, E3 2013 and at Gamescom, every new sighting has only made the wait harder. Watch Dogs features stunning environments that look like living, breathing worlds only possible in the most advanced games. Its take on mission structure allows players to tackle missions in several possible ways, filling the game with variety. Obviously Watch Dogs lives and breathes for next-gen consoles but it can also be enjoyed on the PS3 and Xbox 360 as well.

As beautiful as it is, Watch Dogs gameplay isn’t the entire focus of the experience. Most of what has been seen from the game is pure gameplay with a few cutscenes interspersed. But there is a story to be had in the game’s universe and the DedSec trailer gave us a rare glimpse into the fiction of Watch Dogs. In the game, Chicago is one of many cities under the watchful eye of CTOS (Central Operating System), a supercomputer that controls all the technology of the city while also containing information on all of its citizens. Players take control of Aiden Pearce, a vigilante who has managed to hack his way into the files of CTOS. This is how he manages to obtain all the information on civilians as seen in many Watch Dogs gameplay videos. DedSec looks to be a group who is trying to make the citizens of Chicago aware of the dangers and vulnerabilities of CTOS but are also separating themselves from Pearce. As Pearce attempts to expose CTOS he must also escape from the police and uncover the truth with help from various friends.

There will be 60 additional minutes of Watch Dogs gameplay in the form of four new missions for Sony consoles. Players will also get a white DedSec hacker suit and a hacking boost. Any interactive mission inside Watch Dogs have looked stunning but it will be even better when players finally get a chance to control Aiden themselves and live out their open world hacking fantasies. If you are unfamiliar with the game wikipedia has some good background information.

Watch Dogs releases on Nov. 19 while the PS4 launches on Nov. 15. Watch Dogs gameplay will be getting some exclusive additions on Sony’s consoles. A new trailer titled “DedSec” was also shown at Gamescom.
