Check Out the Watch Dogs 2 Open World in New Video

Watch Dogs 2 Season Pass

Ubisoft released a new video showing off the Watch Dogs 2 open world and what players can do when they explore and hack the game’s version of San Francisco.

Watch Dogs 2 puts players in the role of Marcus Holloway, a hacker who is working to shut down ctOS 2.0 with fellow hackers, including the group DedSec from the original Watch Dogs.

The video focuses on how players have access to the entire city and a score of abilities right from the start. Missions can be discovered almost anywhere and hacking has been refined to allowed nearly everyone and thing to be hacked. The first game took heavy criticism for its driving mechanics. Ubisoft Montreal took this to heart and got help from Ubisoft Reflections, who worked on The Crew, to tighten up the major gameplay feature.

Watch Dogs 2 open world will allow players to customize Marcus with around 700 clothing items that reflect the styles of San Francisco’s various areas. Missions can be approached with stealth, lethal or non-lethal means, or the help of other players in seamless online co-op.

Watch Dogs 2 releases on Nov. 15 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Quick Take

In the months since Watch Dogs 2’s reveal, Ubisoft and the development team have been focused on trying to prove they have learned from the mistakes of the original Watch Dogs. The game has a definite style and heart, something that was hard to find in Aiden Pearce’s crusade through the seedy underbelly of Chicago. Maybe Ubisoft will pull off the same magic they did with the transition from the first Assassin’s Creed to the excellent second entry in the series.
