Activision Announces New Walking Dead FPS

According to IGN, Activision is having The Walking Dead developed by Terminal Reality, who has had some success with unique titles such as SpyHunter, BloodRayne, and Def Jam Rapstars. Centering the story on Daryl Dixon and his brother, Merle, the two must make their way through the dangerous Georgia countryside. During their adventure you will be able to fight zombies or avoid them. Picking your battles is half the war when it comes to surviving in a zombie apocalypse, after all. The player will also meet characters which some might recognize from the show or the comic books. Make them friend or foe; it will be entirely up to you.
A trailer showing the brothers and the events that have happened so far on the TV show indicated that the story takes place when Daryl and Merle are just trying to survive. Yet the looming question still beckons: how will you survive? This leads gamers to believe that if this is going to be an FPS, how are they going to offer a way out of fighting? If there is a Resident Evil feel, will we see this title as a survival horror? While I am not sure what to make of Activision’s newest title just yet, hopefully there will be more at The Walking Dead booth at Comic Con.
But as for the appearance of The Walking Dead at Comic Con, if you one of the first 100 people to pre-order The Walking Dead, you are going to be getting a very special prize: a replica of the zombie ear necklace. Now we don’t know about you, all of us here at GI could definitely go for more zombie ear necklaces, especially around the holidays when we need to think of a unique gift for that special someone! With a powerhouse like Activision working on such a title, there are going to be high hopes for this game. Here’s to hoping we’ll get to see some new footage at Comic Con, or maybe with the season premiere of the TV show in October.
