Black Ops 2 Vengeance DLC

Activision announced details on the newest DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The third piece of downloadable content for Black Ops 2 is called Vengeance and will be released on July 2 first on Xbox Live.

Vengeance will include four new multiplayer maps, a new Zombies mode experience and a bonus weapon for use in the Zombies mode. The four multiplayer maps are called “Cove,” “Detour,” “Rush” and “Uplink.” “Cove” sends players to a remote island in the Indian Ocean where a jet has crash-landed during a smuggling operation. The map is littered with large rock formations where skilled players will be able to flank opponents from all sides in an attempt to push them towards the open center. “Detour” takes place on a suspension bridge full of wreckage. This multi-tiered level has players engaging in long, medium and short range combat on top of the bridge while attempting to navigate clusters of cars that can be blown up. The bridge also has an underside with tight lines of sight where a shotgun or SMG can be deadly. “Rush delivers fast-paced shootouts in a paintball arena. Whether it’s the smaller rooms, the speedball course or the outdoor walkways, Rush aims to push players together in a map where looking back is not an option. No word on if paintball guns will be available in the near future. The final DLC map is called “Uplink and it is a re-imagining of the “Summit” map from the original Black Ops game.  This satellite control facility in Myanmar is full of choke points and has a central area that is a key area of defense.

A peek at the “Uprising” Zombies map

For Black Ops 2 players who can’t get enough of the game’s Zombies mode, Vengeance includes the new map called “Uprising.” The map is a Zombies version of an underground Old West mining town. “Uprising” brings back the four playable Zombies characters which means that there is more story for curious players to uncover. A new character can also be found on the map but players will have to decide whether it will be friend or foe. A bonus Zombies weapon called the Ray Gun Mark 2 will also be available to those who purchase Vengeance. The Mark 2 is an evolution of the traditional Ray Gun Wonder Weapon and is capable of mowing down rows of zombies in a few blasts.

The Vengeance DLC is first available exclusively on Xbox Live for 1200 Microsoft Points. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Season Pass holders will receive the Vengeance DLC content when it releases. No release date for other platforms has been given but should follow in the coming weeks.
