Universal Bringing Nintendo Characters to Theme Parks

Nintendo and Universal Parks and Resorts are teaming up to bring Mario and the gang to Universal theme parks, the two companies announced.
Universal Studios parks, which are located in California, Florida, Japan and Singapore, could all soon be home to Nintendo-themed attractions and characters. No plans have been revealed, but Universal is expected to unveil immersive projects based on Nintendo’s characters, games and worlds at a later date.
The licensing agreement is the latest effort by Nintendo to cash in on its collection of wildly popular characters. In March, the company announced a deal with DeNA to make mobile games based on its characters.
Nintendo also announced that it made a profit for the fiscal year ending in March. It is the first time in four years that Nintendo has turned a profit.
We can only hope that the first Nintendo-themed attraction at Universal Studios is a Mario Kart ride. One has to wonder if it will be powered by giant amiibo. Things are looking up financially for Nintendo. With the success of amiibo and new partnerships with Universal and DeNA, it seems like the company is on the Rainbow Road to financial stability again.
