Uncharted 4 Release Date Pushed Back

Uncharted 4’s release date has been pushed back to April 26, 2016, Naughty Dog announced in a blog post on the PlayStation Blog.
The game was originally slated to release March 18 for the PlayStation 4.
Naughty Dog’s Creative Director Neil Druckmann and Game Director Bruce Straley stated that the team is wrapping up production on the game. Because Uncharted 4 is meant to finish up the story of Nathan Drake as the final entry in one of PlayStation’s most popular franchises, Naughty Dog is striving to reach the expectations of both fans and itself.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is set to be the biggest Uncharted game to date. As the team behind the game began finalizing levels and other deadlines, they saw more resources and time were required to fully realize some key sequences.
“Pushing the date is not an easy choice, and we wouldn’t do it if we didn’t feel in our hearts it’s the best course of action for the game,” said Druckmann and Straley. “To you, our loyal fans, we hope you’ll accept our sincere apology. We know many of you have been waiting patiently for Nathan Drake’s final chapter, and now we humbly ask you to wait a bit longer.”
Quick Take
For players who have been waiting both patiently and impatiently for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, this has to be agonizing news, especially days before Christmas. Though it may not be the kind of present Uncharted fans were expecting, delaying a game would be better than releasing a less than stellar product. Naughty Dog has set one of the highest bars in gaming and expectations for not only one of the biggest PS4 titles but games of 2016 is even higher. Thankfully, it’s just a few extra weeks.
