Turtle Beach has announced the Elite Pro 2 + SuperAmp Pro Performance Gaming Audio Systems for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will release in North America on Sept. 16 for $249.95.
The headset and amp combo is the successor to 2016’s Elite Pro Tournament gaming headset.
The Elite Pro 2 + SuperAmp were developed by Turtle Beach in collaboration with top-ranked esports teams like OpTic Gaming, Splyce, and the Houston Outlaws. It will also launch near the same time as the Robot White Xbox Elite wireless controller, which matches the white color of the Xbox version of the new Elite Pro 2.
“Creating the Elite Pro 2 + SuperAmp took the experience and dedication of our team, and deep collaboration with our esports partners to ensure we deliver the best Elite level gaming audio system,” said Juergen Stark, CEO, Turtle Beach. “It’s a testament to the relentless commitment we started nearly five years ago when we began work on the original Elite Pro, and we’re looking forward to launching its successor next month and once again resetting the bar for what gamers should expect in a competitive gaming headset.”
Turtle Beach fit its signature 50mm Nanoclear speakers into the headset, along with a removable high-sensitivity mic featuring TruSpeak technology to improve communication quality with teammates. A durable metal headband with a suspended pad, the ProSpecs glasses-friendly design, and magnetic AeroFit cooling gel-infused memory foam ear cushions will make sure that players’ head will keep cool and external noise will be blocked out. The Elite Pro 2 also sports magnetic deco plates that are easily swappable for more personalization. Over the holiday season, deco plates will be available to purchase.
The Elite SuperAmp is a one-dial gaming audio controller offering amplified Windows Sonic for Headphones surround sound on Xbox One. PlayStation gamers will be treated to DTS Headphone:X 7.1 channel surround sound. The SuperAmp connects via Bluetooth to the Turtle Beach Audio Hub mobile app. When connected to the app, players can control their game and chat audio mix, variable mic monitoring, dynamic chat boost, Turtle Beach’s trademark Superhuman Hearing, and similar equalizer presets. Controls will also be available for the SuperAmp’s LED color and lighting mode, along with streaming-specific audio settings.
“We’re excited for the results of our continued partnership with Turtle Beach,” said OpTic Gaming General Manager Romain Bigeard. “A competitive organization like ours has the most stringent performance requirements for our equipment, and Turtle Beach has consistently matched and exceeded our standards. The Elite Pro 2 + SuperAmp fulfills that demand and then some, and we expect it to be a crucial addition to the kit of any gamer looking to give themselves an edge over the competition.”
PAX West attendees will be among the first to try out the Elite Pro 2 + SuperAmp before it hits retail. From Aug. 31 to Sept. 3, Turtle Beach will be located in Booth #S2 near the West Hall entrance.
