Transistor Release Date Announced

/ Apr 11th, 2014 No Comments

Supergiant Games announced their upcoming title Transistor will release on May 20 for PlayStation 4 and PC.

A near final build of the sci-fi action-RPG will be show off by Supergiant at PAX East on Apr. 11-13. Attendees can check out the developer’s follow-up to Bastion at booth 892 on the show floor. Transistor debuted at PAX East last year to much acclaim.

[adsense250itp]Transistor lets players take control of Red as she discovers a sentient sword called the Transistor. The Transistor provides narration for Red’s journey as Rucks did in Bastion for the Kid. The game blends strategic turn-based combat with active time action role-playing mechanics. Transistor features an atmospheric narrative as players uncover the mysteries of the Transistor and its former owners, as well as Red’s past.

The PS4 version will be available on the PlayStation Network and the PC version will be available via Steam and Supergiants’ website. Transistor will retail for $19.99 when it launches. More information on the game will be revealed as it approaches release.

Quick Take

Transistor won our Best of E3 2013 award and has been a highly anticipated title here at Gaming Illustrated. It is exciting to see the game get a hard release date, especially one only a month away. From what Supergiant Games showed off at E3 and PAX Prime last year, Transistor is shaping up to be one hell of a follow-up to Bastion.
