One of the dangers back in the days of Ancient Rome was the political fight you had to endure when trying to rise to the top. In Total War: Rome II you are going to get right in the thick of things and have to be right in the middle of the political world. Not only will you be in one of the most dangerous figures in all of Rome, you will also have to be involved with fighting from within your own family and friends. You are going to have to decide whether your own family and friends are being loyal or if they are acting out of their own personal agendas.
Mike Simpson, Creative Director of Total War: Rome II, “Our games have always encompassed a grand vision. But we’re now pushing the vision at both ends of the spectrum. From the immense reach of the sandbox campaign right down to the human-level drama of a single warrior on the battlefield, we’re aiming for an unprecedented level of detail and scale.” This is just a single layer of detail which Creative Assembly is going to be incorporating into the game. Rob Bartholomew, Brand Director stated, “In our 25th year of games development, it feels fitting to return to our most critically acclaimed era. There’s been a multi-generational leap in technology since the original game and we are ready to set another benchmark in gaming.”
How far will you go for Rome? Are you going to save the Republic? Or are you going to becoming the hated tyrant of the first superpower nation in history? Will you make the right decisions and put trust in your friends and family? Or are going going to sacrifice everyone in your way to get everything you want? The choice is yours when it comes to PCs all around the world in 2013.
