Torchlight 2 Set to Release September 20

Torchlight 2 finally has a release date and gamers will not have to wait much longer. Developer Runic Games announced at PAX Prime the highly-anticipated title will be releasing on September 20.
Last week the developer teased the release date would be announced at the gaming expo in Seattle. The action RPG is available to preorder for PC players now on Steam with a Mac version coming soon. Pre-purchasers will receive a copy of the original Torchlight to catch up on the series.
The sequel to the 2009 hit, Torchlight 2 brings gamers back into the world of vicious monsters and bountiful treasures. With the second in the series comes new improvements and additions.
The original title was criticized for being a strictly solo experience. In Torchlight 2, players can now participate in online or LAN co-op multiplayer. New matchmaking services make finding friends and joining games as easy as ever.
New character classes will be included for gamers to use. The Engineer uses steampunk technology and relies on melee attacking enemies. The Outlander is a wandering nomad who uses magic and low weapons. The Berserker attempts to defeat enemies using his quick attack and animal-like abilities. The Embermage uses spell-casting with elemental attacks.
Torchlight II
Players will be able to create either a male or female character with many customization options. New skills and loot will give plenty of opportunity for unique character builds.
The New Game Plus feature kicks in once gamers have passed Torchlight 2. Start the primary campaign again with the same character for a significantly greater challenge. Characters will keep all skills, gold and gear earned in the first playthrough to help with the new journey.
Torchlight 2 will take players outside of the town of Torchlight and into a vast open world. The game will feature multiple hub towns and varying weather conditions. A level randomization system ensures gamers will be getting a new, unpredictable experience with every play.
Fan favorite pets and fishing are returning for the sequel in an improved form. Better effects and expanded choices will make having pets even more fun. Pets still have the ability to run into town to sell loot.
A new user interface will make everything more simple for users. The smooth new interface will allow gamers to keep their focus on playing the game.
The game will be highly moddable using TorchED, the editor for Torchlight 2. Gamers will be able to create mods easier than ever and share them with friends to play together. TorchED will be available for download shortly after Torchlight 2′s release.
