Titanfall Release Date Announced

/ Oct 22nd, 2013 No Comments

Titanfall release date

EA and developer Respawn Entertainment announced the Titanfall release date is March 11, 2014.

The first-person shooter originally announced at E3 will be available exclusively for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.

EA also announced the Titanfall Collector’s Edition will release the same day and is available to pre-order now. The special edition of the game is priced at $249.99.

The Titanfall Collector’s Edition includes an 18-in. Atlas titan statue with diorama and battery-powered LED lights, an art book featuring more than 190 pages of concept art and a full-size schematic poster of the Atlas titan.

Titanfall is a first-person shooter featuring unique futuristic gameplay. Set in the near future, players will be able to board 24-foot tall armored mechs called Titans during matches. Gamers will also have the ability to boost their jump thanks to a special jetpack each character is equipped with.

The game is an online-only multiplayer experience that promises to deliver a new first-person experience. The game was created by one of the co-creators of the Call of Duty franchise and other former key members of the Call of Duty series have been involved.

Since it debuted at E3, Titanfall has been generating buzz. The game has earned more than 80 awards from critics, including “Best of E3″ honors from several publications.

Titanfall was announced as a Microsoft exclusive when it debuted at E3. Microsoft and Respawn have not provided details on the exclusivity of the game. It is not known if the title will never be available on other consoles — namely PlayStation 4 — or if it is a timed exclusive.

Respawn also released a new gameplay trailer for the game. The trailer can be viewed below.

Our Take:

Unfortunately, Titanfall is not a launch day title for Xbox One but gamers will not have to wait too much longer to get their hands on the first-person shooter.
