[adsense250itp]New indie game developer Spearhead Games announced their upcoming title Tiny Brains will be available on PlayStation 4. The company will feature the latest demo of their quirky creation at this year’s E3 convention.
Tiny Brains is a 3D co-op puzzle-solving game that is meant to test the brains of players by making them feel like rats in a maze. Only these mazes are huge, elaborate puzzles that require super-powered lab animals to test.
Players could choose to be a bat that creates force fields or a cyborg-looking white mouse that can teleport across each stage. This is where the co-op element is essential to the gameplay. Not only is one or more player required to complete each maze but players also need to communicate in order to determine how they will progress from one maze to the next and how they will use the broad range of sci-fi superpowers at their disposal.
The game was developed by former Assassin’s Creed 3 design director Simon Darveau, another former Assassin’s Creed designer Malik Boukhira and former Army of Two development director Atul Mehre. The developers created the game as a return to what originally drew them to designing games. They wanted to create a game that allowed people to strengthen their brain muscles and play with good friends.
Gamers seemed to respond to this brain tickling quite positively after the game premiered at PAX East in March by giving either “fun” or “extremely fun” responses. All of the feedback received at PAX East will be used to tweak the game for the updated demo available for testing at this year’s E3.
Anyone attending this years E3 convention will have an opportunity to test the latest version of the game in the South Hall, Booth 2359. The announcement trailer for Tiny Brains can be viewed below.
