THQ Nordic Announces Scarf for PC this Winter

THQ Nordic and Uprising Studios announced today Scarf. It is scheduled for a PC release in winter 2018/2019.

Scarf is a 3D adventure game where its protagonist Hyke uses his polymorphic scarf to explore a magical environment to solve puzzles and face challenges. Hyke’s scarf can morph into different objects like a shield or a glider to help him progress in his adventure.

Hyke was born in an unknown location surrounded by other souls. All of these souls start a path through the World with their purpose to become part of nature. In the trail you can see these souls that Hyke comes across during his journey.

Scarf is designed with rich, distinct, and diverse environments with expertly crafted atmosphere to explore as it tells a story for all ages with multiple layers told without text.

It touts beautiful scenarios, a polymorphic scarf that adapts to each world to bestow different skills and mechanics, a world full of quiet introspection and exploration combined with intense moments where skills are tested, and a unique mythology to discover with inhabitants that respond to Hyke’s actions.

Scarf releases on PC this winter. It is also available to demo at Gamescomm.

Our Take

Scarf looks absolutely beautiful with a distinct and eye catching protagonist. It’ll be exciting to see how Hyke’s scarf works in real time. It is a shame no console release was announced, but PC gamers are in for what looks like a treat this winter.
