The Sims 3: Island Paradise

The Sims 3: Island Paradise is the newest expansion pack for The Sims 3. Despite recently announcing The Sims 4 is releasing in 2014, EA is not quite done with The Sims 3. Just when gamers thought they had explored every possibility with their Sims, EA unveiled details for the most in-depth Sims 3 adventure yet.

Gamers and their virtual buddies will have the opportunity to ditch their typical land dwelling days for the excitement of sand, surf and sun with many of the never-before-seen Sims features included in the latest expansion.

Sims with a sense of exploration are sure to love Island Paradise. The new expansion pack lets Sims travel to multiple available isles. Different islands give Sims an opportunity to party paradise style on a populated island or travel afar and discover uncharted sand spots.

Boats of all types will encourage Sims to breakaway from their beach towels and experience the ocean life. Paddle boats, sail boats, speed boats and even customizable houseboats grant Sims the permanent vacation getaway they have only dreamed of. Houseboats can be designed to the players preference and offer unlimited decorative possibilities. More importantly, houseboats can be moored at any of the island ports so Sims prone to get stir-crazy never have to wade too long in one spot.

Athletic Sims will enjoy jumping waves on Jet Skis or waterskiing from behind their prized speed boat. Sea-loving Sims can work on their underwater skills as well. Snorkel or scuba dive among the coral reef below for a chance to uncover an ancient treasure chest, encounter dangerous ocean life or even catch a glimpse of a Sims mermaid. For more relaxed days, Sims can fish for exotic sea creatures, scan the shore for sea shells or lay out on their beach towels soaking up sun rays. These types of days are a Sims paradise.

The expansion pack shows promise of being the most in-depth pack released for The Sims franchise by allowing players to control not only their Sims, but the environment as well. Sims will also receive new furniture and accessories to further develop into their new beach bum personalities.

In addition to enjoying beach-side vacations, players can build resorts and control its pricing, the resort atmosphere and receive star ratings for their facility. Whether the resort attracts families, newlyweds or single-and-ready-to-mingle Sims, players are sure to enjoy the additional control over their island paradise.

The Sims 3: Island Paradise release date is set for June 25 with a $39.99 price tag for both PC and Mac users. Additionally, gamers who pre-order The Sims 3: Island Paradise will receive the exclusive Island Survival Pack. Unique clothing, decor, furniture and accessories included in the pre-order bonus pack will enable Sims to survive their most harrowing trials. Sims will not want to brave undiscovered islands without this survival pack.
