The Last of Us: Left Behind DLC Release Date Announced

Naughty Dog revealed the release date for Left Behind, the upcoming single-player DLC for the critically-acclaimed The Last of Us. The Last of Us: Left Behind will release on Feb. 14, exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
The release announcement was hinted at after a listing was spotted by users on the PlayStation Network. Shortly after, Naughty Dog confirmed that Left Behind would indeed come to the PlayStation Store on Valentine’s Day. Players can purchase the DLC for $14.99, it will also include a dynamic theme and bonus comic.Those who own the $19.99 Season Pass for The Last of Us will automatically have access to Left Behind.
[adsense250itp]Left Behind was first revealed at the PlayStation 4 launch event on Spike TV. A teaser showed Ellie and Riley, a character from the prologue comic American Dreams, discovering an abandoned carousel taken over by the elements since the cordyceps outbreak. In Left Behind, players will control Ellie over the entire course of the DLC. It will follow events before The Last of Us but after the American Dreams comic. The bond between Ellie and Riley will be explored over the course of story. Players will see the quarantine boarding school where Ellie grew up and watch as the two escape, leading up to events that will change their lives forever.
Considered to be one of the best games of 2013, The Last of Us was revered for its expert storytelling and brutal gameplay. As one of the stand-out PS3 exclusives, The Last of Us also received a perfect score of 100 percent in Gaming Illustrated’s review. Though it hasn’t been confirmed, Left Behind is assumed to be the only piece of single-player The Last of Us will receive.
To play Left Behind, players will have to own The Last of Us as the DLC is not a standalone release. Details on the content of Left Behind are scarce, including what kind of new gameplay players should expect and overall length. That being said, fans of Ellie won’t have to wait long before experiencing this other piece to her story.
