The Golf Club Release Date Announced

/ Aug 13th, 2014 2 Comments

The Golf Club Release Date

HB Studios announced The Golf Club will be released digitally for Xbox One and PC Aug. 19. The Golf Club will release for PlayStation 4 later in August pending certification approval.

The game will be priced at $34.99, a hefty price for a downloadable title.

The Golf Club features tons of customization options, no loading times, and a full course editor that will allow gamers to play an unlimited number of courses. The game also includes seamless drop-in, drop-out multiplayer and leaderboards. Courses created on all platforms are expected to be available across all platforms.

With EA Sports taking a hiatus from the PGA Tour franchise, The Golf Club will be the only true golf sim available to gamers this year. However, the game does not have the PGA license.

Quick Take

Some gamers are upset by the game’s $34.99 price tag, but The Golf Club has a lot more to offer than most digital titles. It will be interesting to see how it sells in a year in which EA Sports will not be releasing a golf sim.

Funny, I’ve yet to see anyone upset with the ‘hefty’ pricetag as you put it.

Make no mistake, this is no little arcade title, but a full size game, with unlimited courses. To me, $34.99 is somewhat a bargain, given the size of the tool that the course creator is.

As you can tell from the article, I agree that The Golf Club is worth the price and could have just as easily released at $60. But when the news hit, the reaction was mixed on social media, and some were upset that a digital title would cost so much.
