Open Beta for The Division

Ubisoft released a trailer showcasing the open beta for the upcoming The Division.

The Division open beta runs from Feb. 18 through Feb. 21. Xbox One players will be given 24-hour exclusive access to the open beta for the first day. PS4 and PC get their shot starting on Feb. 19.

The open beta will include an additional story mission for players.

The open beta is nearly identical to the closed beta which ran from Jan. 28 through Jan. A few new tweaks have been made to the experience across all platforms, including resolving a PC cheating issue that was discovered during the closed beta period. Additionally, the open beta will include a new mission that players have yet to experience. In the new mission, Division agents will fight against the Cleaners, a deadly faction who douses potentially infected in fire.

Tom Clancy’s The Division takes place in a post-pandemic New York City. After a deadly outbreak was released on Black Friday, the world has been left in chaos. Players take on the role of an agent in the Division, an organization that hopes to bring New York back from the brink of chaos. Whether solo or in a team of four, players can explore a ruined New York collecting loot and building up their base of operations. The Dark Zone allows players to work with or against others in a unique PvP experience to steal loot or cooperate with others to take down rogue agents.

The Division releases on March 8 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
