The Art of Blizzard Announcement

Just like many other game developers before them, Blizzard Entertainment had humble beginnings. When three guys just out of UCLA decided to start the company their goal was simply to make cool games and have fun doing it. Now, just over twenty years later, the company has spread out with offices all over the world, with millions of fans enjoying the unique gameplay in a variety of languages. Besides the Warcraft titles, Blizzards games include the very popular Starcraft, and Diablo series.
Featuring about 800 pieces of conceptual artwork, paintings, and sketches, The Art of Blizzard will explore the company’s genesis and show audiences just how these games are made from their conceptual beginnings. The book will also feature a never before seen look at unpublished projects, as well as serving as an ideal companion to World of Warcraft, Diablo III, and Starcraft II. Commentary on the artwork is provided by Blizzard Entertainment’s Nick Carpenter, Sam Didier, and Chris Metzen. All played major roles in developing Blizzard’s expansive gaming universe. Fans of the online RPG games will most likely have no problem dishing out the money (the retail price is $75, while Amazon has it listed much lower). Even casual gamers and art lovers may want to have a look given the size of the title as this could very well be a great addition to many different types of consumers’ coffee table collections.
