Telltale Announces New Games at San Diego Comic Con

Telltale New Games

Telltale Games kicked off San Diego Comic Con by announcing three titles that are in the works. In a video post, the developer unveiled sequels to its popular The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, and Batman franchises.

The game that is closest to release is Batman: The Enemy Within – The Telltale Series. The first episode of the five-part follow-up to 2016’s Batman: The Telltale Series will release Aug. 8 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. It will also be available on Android and iOS devices later this year. A disc-based retail version that includes download access to all episodes when they release will be released in October.

Voice actors Troy Baker and Anthony Igruber will return to their roles as Bruce Wayne and “John Doe” (aka The Joker), but Telltale says the game will be a standalone title rather than a straight sequel.

Telltale is also working on a fourth and final season of its The Walking Dead game. Tentatively titled The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – The Final Season, this season will put players back in the role of Clementine. The new season of The Walking Dead is now in development and is expected to release in 2018.

Additionally, a second season of The Wolf Among Us will debut in 2018. The series, which is based on Bill Willingham’s “Fables” comic book series, concluded in 2014, but fans have longed for Telltale to continue The Wolf Among Us since. The new season will bring back Adam Harrington as Bigby Wolf and Erin Yvette as Snow White for a new story arc.

The second season of The Wolf Among Us is expected to release in the “second half of 2018” and will be available on “all major gaming consoles and mobile gaming devices.”

Interestingly, no specific mention of the Nintendo Switch was made in the announcement of the three games. Telltale was mostly vague about the release dates and platforms, so it’s too early to rule out a Switch release. With Telltale making its games available on mobile platforms, Switch is likely in the plans as well.
