[adsense250itp]Super Time Force will release in early 2014 for Xbox One in addition to Xbox 360, developer Capybara Games announced.
The fast-paced 2D shooter will be self-published on Xbox One through the ID@Xbox program. Super Time Force was originally expected to release this year on Xbox 360 via the Xbox Live Arcade through a publishing deal with Microsoft Studios.
Super Time Force will release simultaneously for both Xbox consoles.
Capybara Games is best known for the 2011 title Superbrothers: Sword & Sorcery EP. The developer is also currently working on Below, another original title set to launch as a timed exclusive for Xbox One. Below is also being published through Microsoft Studios. Capybara is taking a completely different approach with Below, showcasing two varying styles.
The developer released a trailer for Super Time Force alongside the announcement. The trailer can be viewed below.
Our Take:
It is nice to see Microsoft’s ID@Xbox program off and running with an anticipated title such as Super Time Force. Gamers should also be excited to see what Capybara Games is referring to as opposite sides of the spectrum in Super Time Force and Below. It can only be viewed as positive to see Microsoft embracing indies.
