Embrace Eldritch Horrors in Sundered, Jotun Devs’ Newest Game

Thunder Lotus Games revealed its newest game, Sundered, will release on PlayStation 4 and PC in 2017.
The studio’s first title was Jotun, a game released in 2015 on PC after a successful Kickstarter campaign. Jotun: Valhalla Edition, an updated version of the game, released on PS4, Xbox One and Wii U this September.
Sundered brings the hand-drawn visuals and massive boss battles of Jotun to a world filled with eldritch horrors. The game features more complex mechanics and player choices in a universe that is inspired by the work of H.P. Lovecraft.
Players take on the role of Eshe, who is trapped in the ever-changing caverns of a ruined world. By gaining powers from relics, Eshe will be able to defeat the game’s massive bosses.
Thunder Lotus hinted that the abilities players will gain are corruptible, implying that they might not only change how they affect gameplay, but how they eat away at Eshe’s humanity. Because the game has multiple endings, Sundered’s tagline of “resist or embrace” seems fitting.
TwitchCon 2016 marks the public debut of Sundered as attendees will have a chance to check out a playable version of the game.
