Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Eidos Montreal released a new Deus Ex: Mankind Divided trailer showing off the new abilities protagonist Adam Jensen will use when tackling the diverse missions found in the game.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided 101 servers as a quick lesson on how players will defeat enemies and survive overwhelming odds. In the world of Deus Ex, many humans have been granted augmentations that enhance their abilities. But a split has begun to occur between augmented humans and non-augmented humans. After terrorist incidents have left the two sides in opposition, tensions are at a tipping point. Hatred for augmented humans has led to mass murders and a war is brewing.

Adam Jensen returns from the stellar Deus Ex: Human Revolution, serving as a counter terrorism agent. Because of his augmentations, Jensen is in a difficult position with his non-augmented teammates. But he is also the best weapon for the job and players will use Jensen’s skills to discover the truth.

Mankind Divided will allow players to shoot through or sneak past objectives as they see fit. Levels in the game are designed to allow a guns blazing approach. Firearms can be modified with multiple attachments, Jensen can absorb damage with hardened armor, or use explosive nanoblades to kill foes. However, it’s entirely possible not to kill anyone. Players can hack computer terminals to pass through security doors and avoid enemy patrols or completely cloak themselves to stay out of sight. It’s a game of possibilities and Eidos Montreal looks to be on the right path with this sequel.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided releases on Aug. 23 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
