Street Fighter 5 Set to be PS4, PC Exclusive

Street Fighter 5 is coming exclusively to the PlayStation 4 and PC if a leaked teaser trailer is to be believed.
[adsense250itp]Capcom seemingly posted the teaser to their YouTube channel earlier today. Since then the video has been set to private but is also viewable elsewhere.
The trailer waxes nostalgic by diving into the past, present and future of the Street Fighter franchise. Street Fighter fan art, tattoos, game collections and memorabilia is shown alongside footage from previous entries in the acclaimed fighting series. Ryu and Chun Li are shown fighting in what appears to be gameplay of the upcoming release. The trailer ends with the Street Fighter 5 logo and the announcement it will release exclusively on PS4 and PC.
Street Fighter 4, the last entry in the series, was released in 2009 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. It received three updates including Super Street Fighter 4 and Ultra Street Fighter 4. It was also the first numbered Street Fighter game released by Capcom after a nearly ten year hiatus.
With the PlayStation Experience taking place in Las Vegas this weekend, it’s possible this announcement was meant to be a part of that event. Either way, official confirmation should come soon.

Quick Take
With the increasing popularity of the fighting genre and events like EVO, Street Fighter 5 is obviously welcome. For Sony, the PS4 exclusivity is a big grab and would have certainly been a major announcement had the teaser not leaked. Whether the game is merely a timed exclusive or not remains to be seen but it’s possible a potential “Super” Street Fighter 5 can find its way on the Xbox One.
