With a growing interest in Steam machines, many who have yet to build or buy a home theater PC are now considering a PC in the living room. STEIGER DYNAMICS debuted their new HTPC, the MAVEN, at CES 2013 and are now shipping the small powerhouse. Three variants are available for customization.
All three variations come with the sleek aluminum chassis in silver or black, a slot-loading Blu-ray drive, liquid cooling and solid state drives.
The Pure starts at $999 as the media center solution or light gaming with integrated graphics. The Core starts at $1599 with dedicated graphics, more memory and an upgraded processor. The Reference is the top of the line, with a further upgraded processor, a higher output power supply, a baseline of 16GB of memory, support of up to three dedicated graphics cards and more. The only limitation is your wallet.
The MAVEN can be ordered from the STEIGER DYNAMICS website in fully customized builds or in-stock units.
The MAVEN offers a sleek exterior with plenty of power for some of the most demanding PC titles. With some nice features like solid state drives and liquid cooling coming standard, the MAVEN offers speed and versatility that can’t be found in a game console. With a sticker price that starts at a grand, there is some ground to be made up when compared to other larger PC’s, but the MAVEN packs a punch in a box that deserves to be placed front and center in the living room.
