SteelSeries Sentry & “The Future of Streaming”

/ Jan 3rd, 2015 No Comments

SteelSeries, producer of some of the best gaming peripherals on the market, is highlighting its eye-tracking PC peripheral the SteelSeries Sentry Eye Tracker with their streamed event “The Future of Streaming.” SteelSeries will stream with popular streamer personalities to demonstrate the unique possibilities of the Sentry via Twitch to fans around the world.

“Today, with our Sentry Eye Tracker, we are announcing an entirely new way for streamers and viewers to see the game,” Ehtisham Rabbani, SteelSeries CEO. “This is just the tip of the innovation iceberg for Sentry, and we could not be more excited to realize all the possibilities that emerge when your game knows where your eyes are looking.”

The Sentry will record where your eyes are, and for how long.

We expressed our thoughts on the prototype we were shown at E3 last year, and the applications and utility of the device should land with a significant impact on multiple competitive games. Now, gamers can view the game through the pros’ eyes and see how one analyzes the screen and how frequently their eyes move to various areas throughout a match. Training and personal analysis is incredibly useful and sharable, and using The Sentry as a controller is in development with help from Tobu Technology.

Beginning today, the SteelSeries Sentry Eye Tracker is available for $199.99 at the SteelSeries website. “The Future of Streaming” event will be streaming live throughout the weekend.
