SteelSeries QcK Limited Edition Gaming Mousepad Review
The mousepad works exactly as you would expect it to. It creates a smooth surface for your mouse to glide over, limiting factors that would inhibit effective movement such as friction and sticking. In my short time with this product, I have to say the cloth used is definitely of a much higher caliber than that of other mousepads I’ve used recently, making it exceptional for gaming where you need your mouse to move with pinpoint accuracy. In addition, the sheer size of the mousepad allows you to maintain full range of motion of your mouse, unlike other smaller mousepads where you are limited by its edges. I have seen my overall mouse accuracy improve since I’ve started using this mousepad, but not on a scale that provides any meaningful assistance in gameplay, at least not as far as I can tell. Basically, I suck at Starcraft II and I’m not getting suddenly better just because of my new mousepad, as much as I wish this were the case.
My only complaint is that the mousepad does move around sometimes. It doesn’t skip around my desk, but I will find it sliding slightly up or to the side after some time of playing and have to reposition it back to the way I had it initially. You could chalk this up to user error; maybe I’m pushing it on accident when I play, or maybe the way I hold the mouse is different from how the guys at SteelSeries expected. In the grand scheme of things, this is an extremely small issue. This is a great product if you’re looking for a high quality, durable mousepad that will reduce interference with mouse movement. It looks great, feels great, and works great. This is a solid product that I would definitely recommend, regardless of whether you use your computer to play games or not.
