SteelSeries announced their new multi-platform H Wireless Headset this week. Though an exact date has not yet been released, the H Headset will begin shipping this month.
The H Headset will feature SteelSeries’ next-generation drivers as well as three Dolby technologies. Dolby Pro Logic IIx will create realistic multi-directional sound while Dolby Digital will help create a more immersive cinematic audio experience and Dolby Headphone will simulate multi-speaker surround sound.
In order to create a smooth, lag-free wireless experience, the H Headset utilizes a fixed-latency, frequency-hopping system that continuously and automatically searches available wireless frequencies for the best audio option. Two gaming-specific audio functions will be included in the H Headset, ChatMix and LiveMix. ChatMix enables users to find their preferred balance between chat and game audio while LiveMix will automate the process of finding that balance by reducing game audio to the user’s pre-chosen setting when chat audio is detected.
The H Headset can be used with multiple-platforms and mobile devices via the Sound Share port. H Headsets will retail for $299.99 and ship standard with two 20-hour lithium-ion batteries and a mobile cable.
Other features of the H Headset include; memory foam ear cushions, extra padding on the headband, a retractable microphone with an LED indicator which indicates when the mic is muted and customizeable sound settings.
