Sony is Blocking Fallout 76 Cross-Platform Capabilities

It appears as if Fallout 76 players will not be able to play with friends on other consoles due to the fact that Sony is not on board with the idea.
In an interview with German website GameStar.de, Todd Howard, director and executive producer of Bethesda Game Studios said in no uncertain terms that Sony “is not being as helpful as everyone would like.”
Sony is becoming a bit infamous for their lack of willingness to allow developers to make their multiplayer games cross-platform for Playstation 4 owners. This has most recently drawn the ire of fans around the world who became aware that Sony was preventing PS4 players from joining their friends in matches of smash hit Fortnite on other platforms.
Time will tell if Sony decides to relent on this issue. Based on the backlash they are receiving from PS4 owners, one would have to assume they will at least consider it.
While it’s an understandable business move for Sony to make sure people have to buy their console to play games with their friends on their console, you ultimately have to give the people what they want or they will turn on you. Playstation owners are tiring of hearing that Sony is holding up cross-platform deals with developers. We will see if this decision ends up effecting Sony’s bottom line. They might reconsider if this happens.
