Skyrim Dragonborn

Skyrim‘s downloadable content package Dragonborn is now available for pre-orders for PC players via Steam.

The DLC for the PC version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be officially available on Feb. 5. The DLC will cost $19.99.

Dragonborn became the third expansion pack for the Xbox 360 version of Skyrim when it released in December. Earlier this month, it was revealed the Skyrim DLC would finally be making its way onto PlayStation 3 and PC. Bethesda has yet to announce when to expect Dragonborn to arrive on PS3 although it is set to release sometime in February.

The additional content contains the much-discussed new ability to mount dragons and fly through the Skyrim environment. Other new content includes new creatures, spells, weapons and armors.

New creatures and enemies introduced in Dragonborn include Werebears, Ash Spawn and Rieklings. The Morag Tong are enemies gamers will fight against. Lurkers are difficult enemies around the same size as giants who dish out a lot of damage. There are also new dragon types in Dragonborn.

Armor addition include Deathbrand, Bonemold, Chitin, Morag Tong and a new Thieves Guild armor. As for weapons, players will be able acquire two unique scimitars, Stalhrim weapons and armor, spears, and carved Nordic weapons and armor. Additionally, the DLC includes two new robes.

Dragonborn also adds spells and enchantments including Poison Rune, Whirlwind Cloak, Ash Shell, Waterwalking and Staff Enchanting. A new ring will allow gamers to explode resurrected creatures into frost and fire damage. A choice of three new active effects can be found. In total, players will be able to get five new effects. The DLC also features a new summoning power and at least three new summon spells.

Players will explore the island of Solstheim, a setting fans of The Elder Scrolls franchise will recognize as the setting for The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind expansion Bloodmoon.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an open world action RPG released last year. Fans of the series and PC players will also note the beta signups have begun for the massively multiplayer online game, The Elder Scrolls Online.
