Skyrim Dragonborn

Skyrim for Xbox 360 is getting the Dragonborn downloadable content package Tuesday for 1600 Microsoft Points. The DLC will be available through the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Bethesda officially announced Dragonborn last month after rumors it would be released. The DLC will include the ability to mount dragons. Gamers will be able to fly atop dragons to the new environment of Solstheim.

Details about Dragonborn spread across the Internet on Monday, introducing new features from the DLC not announced by Bethesda. The new content includes new creatures, spells, weapons and armors.

According to a report by The Out Housers, new creatures and enemies include Werebears, which means characters will be transforming into bears similar to werewolves. The Morag Tong are enemies gamers will fight against. Lurkers are difficult enemies around the same size as giants who dish out a lot of damage. Ash Spawn, Rieklings and a serpent-like creature are additional new creatures. There is also new dragon types in Dragonborn.

New armor includes Deathbrand, Bonemold, Chitin, Morag Tong and a new Thieves Guild armor. As for weapons, players will be able acquire two unique scimitars, Stalhrim weapons and armor, spears, and carved Nordic weapons and armor. Additionally, the DLC includes two new robes.

Dragonborn also adds spells and enchantments including Poison Rune, Whirlwind Cloak, Ash Shell, Waterwalking and Staff Enchanting. A new ring will allow gamers to explode resurrected creatures into frost and fire damage. A choice of three new active effects can be found. In total, players will be able to get five new effects. The DLC also features a new summoning power and at least three new summon spells.

There will also be a number of additional new features included with the new Skyrim DLC. Players will explore the island of Solstheim, a setting fans of The Elder Scrolls franchise will recognize as the setting for The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind expansion Bloodmoon.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an open world action RPG released last year. Dragonborn is the third DLC pack available for the game. The first DLC, Dawnguard, launched in June for Xbox 360 and August for PC. A second content package, Hearthfire, released in September for Xbox 360 and October for PC. It allowed players to purchase land and build a home complete with adopted children. Hearthfire has been subject to gameplay glitches and a patch has yet to be announced.
