/ Jul 22nd, 2014 No Comments

Skylanders Trap Team Dark Edition

Skylanders is making its first appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 24. At the event, fans will have the chance to get hands-on experience with Skylanders Trap Team, the newest entry in the franchise.

Skylanders Trap Team Dark Edition is also going to be at Comic-Con. The $99 special edition of Trap Team includes black and silver variants of new characters Food Fight, Snap Shot and Wild Fire along with trading cards, stickers and a two-sided poster.

The highlight of the Dark Edition is likely the Ultimate Kaos Trap. Larger than other traps, the Ultimate Kaos Trap allows players to trap and play as the Skylanders series’ primary antagonist Portal Master Kaos.

Activision is also awarding more than $5,000 in cash and prizes to the best Skylanders costumes at the Skylanders Panel. The “Skylanders: The Creative Process of Bringing Toys to Life” panel features comic book writer Ron Marz, Kaos’ voice actor Richard Horvitz, Activision’s Senior VP of Consumer Marketing John Coyne and will be moderated by Geoff Keighley.

The Skylanders Trap Team Dark Edition starter pack is available on Oct. 5 for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U and Wii.

Quick Take

Comic-Con is the perfect venue for a franchise like Skylanders. The game’s blend of toys, collectibles and gameplay give it a far reach. Considering the wide range of expansions and characters, the costume contest should be exciting. And the Dark Edition will certainly give collectors a few new items to thirst for.
