Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments

New information on the upcoming game Sherlock Holmes: Crime and Punishment has been released by publisher Focus Home Interactive. The European-based company unveiled three new screenshots and announced that the game will be released on Xbox One in addition to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC in early Sept.

The game will be previewed at E3 in June. The preview will be hosted by Maximum Games, the game’s North American distributor.

Developed by Frogsware, this is the seventh Sherlock Holmes game in the award-winning Adventures of Sherlock Holmes game franchise. All games have featured the famous fictional detective in new original mysteries that have featured everyone from Jack the Ripper to Maurice Leblanc’s Arsène Lupin and H. P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos.

Sherlock Holmes: Crime and Punishment will be the first game in the series to use the Epic Unreal Engine 3, allowing for greater graphical detail and immersion.

Split into six different cases, the upcoming mystery-adventure will strive to make players feel like they are Holmes with brand new gameplay mechanics and investigative methods not seen in previous Sherlock Holmes games.

Quick Take

Sherlock Holmes: Crime and Punishment is shaping up to be an interesting title. It was surprising Xbox One was left off its release platforms, especially with the game coming to PS4. It is great to see the game will be coming to Microsoft’s next-gen console.
