League of Legends

The Season 4 League of Legends Spring Promotional Qualifier was held at PAX Prime in Seattle, Wash. with four teams fighting for a spot in the North American Championship Series promotional tournament.

New World Eclipse took on COGnitive Gaming while compLexity went against To Be Determined in the semifinals. COGnitive Gaming swept New World Eclipse 2-0, thanks to the domination by AD player Nothinghere. New World Eclipse made many mistakes, perhaps because the players were nervous participating in a large live setting for the first time.

compLexity took the series against To Be Determined. CompLexity’s top player Megazero and support player M eye A were great in the first game, while To Be Determined’s Westrice showed why he is to be feared on the champion Akali. In the third game, Westrice struggled and M eye A pulled off key plays on the champion Thresh to lead compLexity to the eventual match victory. While To Be Determined lost the match, they still have a spot secured for the promotional tournament from their victory at MLG Anaheim.

In the final match, COGnitive Gaming faced compLexity for the chance to play in the promotional tournament and try to get into the Season 4 NA LCS. M eye A again showed his prowess in the support role, playing a magnificent Zyra and Thresh in both games. MegaZero also was able to play Rumble in both games and had some key moments in deciding team fights. Each game was close but compLexity took the match 2-0, locking down the second spot for the Season 4 NA LCS promotional tournament.

compLexity will join To Be Determined in the Season 4 NA LCS promotional tournament as both have clinched spots in the competition. No official date for the Season 4 NA LCS promotional tournament has been announced but details are expected to be revealed soon.
