Sacred 3, the third installment in the hack’n’slash franchise, had its new official announcement trailer released on YouTube late last week. The game, being published by Deep Silver, continues the fast-action hacking and slashing the previous two games brought to gamers. The new trailer is a little more than two minutes long and does not feature any in-game gameplay. However, it is filled with impressive cinematics, demonstrating the multiplay elements behind the game.

About Sacred 3
Sacred 3 will be released on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 this summer, according to a press release from Deep Silver sent on February 19. The game will take players into the fantasy realm of Ancaria, where they will have to come together to vanquish the “deadly tides of evil” from the realm. The game hopes to immerse players in engaging co-op hack’n’slash gameplay.
“The paramount development goal for Sacred 3 has been to create a seamless online and offline co-op experience”, said Remy van Leeuwen, Brand Manager of Deep Silver. “By creating a game built around the central concept of co-op gameplay, we’re expanding the series to new audiences without compromising the rich lore and fantasy of the Sacred universe.”
Sacred 3 will feature action focusing on being able to drop in and drop out from cooperative multiplayer environments. The game can be played offine with two players, or online with four players. The game will bring back iconic characters such as the Khukuhru, Safiri, Ancarian, and Seraphim, while also introducing a new character known as Malakhim. Each class of character will feature unique skills and weapons which can be upgraded.
Our Take
Hack’n’Slash fans should keep Sacred 3 on their radar. The official website shows off some of the screenshots from the game which look pretty darn interesting. It’s expected, but a little disappointing, that the release trailer did not feature any in-game action, but that’s the game industry for you. While there is no hard release date set just yet, gamers should definitely keep this one on their radars.
