Cellar Door Games announced its hit “rogue-lite” game Rogue Legacy is coming to all PlayStation platforms July 29.
[adsense250itp]The game will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. Abstraction Games helped with porting the game over from PC.
Rogue Legacy on PlayStation will implement Cross Buy and Cross Save. Purchasing one version will net players the other two, plus saves can be downloaded and uploaded via the cloud. Every feature from the PC version including all the content patches are being brought over as well. Players will get the extra bonus zones, traits, boss remixes and just a tiny amount of new content. In addition to offering multiple languages, a Platinum trophy can also be earned.
In Rogue Legacy, players are asked to fight their way through a magical castle that changes its structure upon each visit. With every death, your children succeed you. These children also have unique genetic traits that alter the style of play. Players can choose a dwarf barbarian or a colorblind assassin. Some traits affect gameplay while others are purely aesthetic or just for laughs. To raise the strength of your family line, money earned in the castle is passed down through the generations to upgrade the family castle and increase the stats of children.
Quick Take
When it came out last year, Rogue Legacy was a standout title for the PC. Its unique take on roguelikes, difficulty and exciting gameplay also made it one of the best indie games of 2013. When it was announced the game would be coming to PlayStation, it was obviously a perfect fit. Thankfully, all the content from the PC version will make it to PlayStation, allowing for the best Rogue Legacy experience.
