Rockstar Announces Final Max Payne 3 DLC
Rockstar Games has announced their plans for the next downloadable content pack for Max Payne 3. On Jan. 22, the company will be releasing the Deathmatch Made in Heaven Pack for all platforms in North America. The pack will be made available for PS3 players in Europe on Jan. 30.
Rockstar has also said Deathmatch Made in Heaven will be the final DLC released for Max Payne 3. No doubt the studio will be focusing all of their efforts on the upcoming GTA 5, which will be released later this spring.
Rockstar will be announcing further details on the map pack in the coming days. Could one of the new co-op modes be a sort of Horde mode where players team up to defeat waves of increasingly difficult thugs? Though many might hope that some shooting mechanics from Max Payne 3 will carry over into GTA 5, it has been confirmed that Social Club features will carry over into the next Grand Theft Auto title.
When Max Payne 3 was released in June 2012, it was critically acclaimed. Gaming Illustrated gave the title a 93% in its review, praising the story, graphics, gameplay, sound and multiplayer. Despite seeming somewhat under appreciated in the flood of great games in 2012, Gaming Illustrated also awarded Max Payne 3 with the title of Best Action/Adventure of 2012.
The Deathmatch Made in Heaven Pack will be available for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live and $9.99 on PC and PlayStation Network. Rockstar Pass owners will receive the new DLC at no additional charge.
