The renown writer has worked on a vast number of titles, including the Overlord series, Heavenly Sword, Mirror’s Edge and the most recent revamp of Tomb Raider.
Pratchett learned of Beatbuddy through Austin Wintory, who is creating a song and level for the game. Soon after she became interested in the possibility of working along with THREAKS and Wintory.
Beatbuddy won Best Art and Best Sound in Intel’s 2012 Level Up game contest. Beatbuddy will leave the players to tailor the music in each action packed level. By interacting with the environment and creatures within the world, players will solve puzzles and open new doors to additional journeys. THREAKS has made advancements with the project that will make the player awe-struck, including adding patent-pending sound technology that syncs music with the in-game animations.
Initially, THREAKS had considered Rhianna, but believing that she would be busy they held off on inviting her to join their team for Beatbuddy. Gamers will be immersed into a game where music is welded into every aspect of the game creating a beautiful world.
Beatbuddy will be released later this year for PC, Mac, and Linux.
