Resident Evil 6 Getting Xbox 360 Timed-Exclusive Content

Resident Evil 6

The highly-anticipated release of Resident Evil 6 is coming soon and downloadable content has already been announced. Capcom revealed today the details of DLC that will first be available on Xbox 360.

The timed-exclusive DLC will contain three new gameplay modes designed to expand on the multiplayer experience and give players new ways to enjoy the world of Resident Evil 6.

In a new trailer for the game, Capcom shows off some of the characters and scenarios gamers will experience in Resident Evil 6. At the end of the trailer, it is revealed that new game modes will be coming to Xbox 360 first.

The new game modes include Survivor Mode, Predator Mode, and Siege Mode.

Survivor Mode is a twist on the classic solo and team-based versus modes. Once players are killed, they respawn as an enemy character. In order to become a human character again, the player must take down two humans. The last man or team standing wins the match.

Predator Mode pits one player in the role of the Ustanak, the fearsome B.O.W. that stalks Jake Muller throughout his campaign. The Ustanak gamer must take out human players. The remaining players are humans who must stop the B.O.W. or simply survive until the end of the session.

In Siege Mode, human players will have to protect a single NPC. The enemy team, in turn, will have to eliminate that NPC. If the enemy team fails to destroy the NPC, the human team wins.

All three new game modes will have support for up to six players online and use maps from the game’s Mercenaries Mode.

Of course, all stats and accomplishments can be tracked using the online service Residentevil.net. The free service allows gamers to view and compare stats with other players from around the world.

More post-launch content is expected to be announced by Capcom soon. Further DLC will include additional Mercenaries Mode maps and other unannounced items.

Resident Evil 6 is expected to release on October 2 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. A demo for the game will debut on September 18. Capcom did not announce an official release date for the Xbox 360 timed-exclusive content but it is not expected to launch until some time after the initial release of the game.
