Resident Evil 6 online just got a lot better.

Capcom announced the release of three new downloadable content packs coming to their widely popular zombie survival title, Resident Evil 6. All three DLC packs will feature a strict focus on the multiplayer aspect of the newest addition to one of the biggest zombie franchises in the industry.

Predator:

The first of the DLC trio is called Predator and will be grounded in the Jake Muller campaign. Predator adds a new level of excitement into the game’s multiplayer aspects with one character taking on the role of the B.O.W. (Bio Organic Weapon) called Ustanak, while the other players take the role of humans. If the humans can manage to either take down the Ustanak or even just survive until time runs out, they win. If not, a gruesome fate awaits them. This online mode supports up to six players.

Survivors:

Ranging from two to six players, Survivors adds a creative spin on the classic battle mode by randomly assigning players to either a zombie or human role. From there, both teams will face off against each other. The main element that sets this mode apart from others is that when a player dies, they are reincarnated as a member of the opposite team. This adds a tug-of-war element to Resident Evil 6 multiplayer that will force players to struggle to tilt the scales in their favor in an attempt to overrun the opposing team.

Onslaught:

As the name suggests, Onslaught will focus on the idea of having players face constant waves of enemies. Unlike most arena-style modes often seen in other games, Onslaught adds a competitive aspect by pitting the players against each other to see who can fight off enemies faster and more efficiently. The player who can use the most combos during their fight for survival will add more enemies onto the other player’s screen. The player who either dies or has the most enemies on screen at the end of the time limit loses.

All stats and accomplishments from Resident Evil 6 multiplayer can be tracked using the online service Residentevil.net. The free service allows gamers to view and compare stats with other players around the world.

All three content packs will be available Dec. 18 on Xbox Live for 320 MS Points individually or 720 MS Points as a bundle. There’s no word on when the new content will release for PlayStation 3. Capcom unveiled that Resident Evil 6 bonus content would be exclusive to Xbox 360 for a limited time when the first details of the DLC were released.
