The Steam version of Resident Evil 4 includes new exclusive features optimized for Steam. These include full compatibility for game controllers, achievements, trading cards, global leaderboards and full support for Steam Cloud. In addition to high definition graphics, all features from previous PC releases of the game will be included like the Separate Ways bonus mission where players control Ada Wong in a side story running parallel to the main one.
Set six years after the events of Resident Evil 2, Leon S. Kennedy, one of the two protagonists from that game, is a special agent sent to rescue the American president’s daughter, Ashley. After tracking her to Spain, Leon becomes embroiled in a plot by a cult known as Los Iluminados who plan to unleash a virus to conquer the world using the president’s daughter. Leon must fight through the cult, save the president’s daughter and avert an epidemic threatening humanity.
Upon release Resident Evil 4 was an immediate success earning overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics, many game of the year awards and selling millions of copies. It was followed by subsequent enhanced re-releases on other gaming platforms. The game is still considered one of the best entries in the Resident Evil franchise and it still holds one of the highest rankings on Metacritic.
