Re-Volt

Re-Volt, the classic 1999 racing game, has been released for purchase on GOG. Originally published and developed by Acclaim Entertainment, Re-Volt can be purchased for $5.99.

The GOG re-release of the game is for PC which has been optimized for play on modern Windows operating systems. In addition to being DRM-free, purchasing the game will come with many extras including Re-Volt’s manual, two soundtracks, a reference card and 47 pieces of artwork.

Re-Volt is a racing game featuring 32 R/C cars. Taking place across 14 different tracks, players race and use weapons to compete for one of four cups in the game’s main tournament mode. The game also features a multiplayer mode and a track creator mode enabling players to create more environments to compete in.[adsense250itp]

Re-Volt received largely positive reviews from critics upon its release on the PC, Playstation, Nintendo 64 and Dreamcast. Its success resulted in a remake on the PS2 called RC Revenge Pro. It has recently been ported to iOS and Android mobile devices by its current copyright owner WeGo Interactive. The title is still considered by many to be a memorable racing game.

The retro racing game remains popular even after the demise of Acclaim Entertainment. A community of fans still remain which still compete in online play against each other. Fans of the game will enjoy new content created for the re-release that enhances and improves the original game.
