MLBAM Announces RBI Baseball 18

Major League Baseball’s digital arm, MLBAM, has taken over development of the RBI Baseball franchise and will release RBI Baseball 18, the company announced.
RBI Baseball 18 will feature significant improvements compared to previous versions of the game, which has not be received well by critics since being revived in 2014. RBI Baseball 18 includes face-scanned player models, new animations, dynamic camera angles and an upgraded presentation.
Additionally, RBI 18 will allow players to participate in Home Run Derby and Franchise modes for the first time. The game’s franchise will feature a unique option that allows players to update MLB rosters during the season to account for real-world trades, according to a report from Polygon.
More than 100 MLB legends will also be available to use within the game, including Orel Hershiser, Ernie Banks and Rollie Fingers.
Coming off a season in which he won a Louisville Silver Slugger Award, Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor is this year’s cover athlete.
All the new features comes at a cost of $10 to consumers. RBI Baseball 18 will cost $29.99 for consoles, up from $19.99 for previous iterations. The smartphone and tablet version is expected of RBI 18 is expected to cost $6.99.
No official release date has been announced.
