Rage 2 will release in spring 2019 Bethesda revealed at its E3 2018 press conference.
id Software released the original Rage in 2011 for PC. The series has remained mostly dormant since a Walmart leak revealed that Rage 2 was on the way.
Bethesda showed off gameplay for Rage 2. It fits the FPS open world playground players have come to expect from the publisher. Players take on the role of Walker, who will take on humans and mutants across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Guns can be upgraded while Nanotrite powers are like special abilities that increase players’ toolkits for taking out enemies. The Overdrive ability will give players the chance to push guns beyond their mechanical limits.
Any vehicle can be driven and many are equipped for the wasteland with guns and weapons. Different factions vie for control whether they be mutants, monsters, or humans.
Andrew W.K. will be doing the theme song for Rage 2, which he also performed on the Bethesda stage. Those who pre-order Rage 2 will receive the Settlers Pistol, the Mutant Monster Truck, the Nicholas Raine Armor, and the exclusive mission “Cult of the Death God.”
Avalanche Studios, the developer behind Rage 2, has previously worked on the Just Cause series, Mad Max, and Generation Zero. Just Cause 4, published by Square Enix, will release on Dec. 4, 2018.
