Bethesda Announces Quake Champions

Quake Champions kicked off Bethesda‘s E3 2016 press conference today.
Tim Willits, iD Software‘s studio director, came on stage to briefly discuss the game after a CGI reveal trailer was played.
Bethesda has been revitalizing iD Software properties for several years now. Wolfenstein, Doom, and now Quake are being brought to players new and old to enjoy. Willits said the game will be available on PC and that players both new and old to the franchise will be able to enjoy it.
The game is being described as a competitive arena-style first-person shooter. Players will choose between a diverse cast that each have their own unique abilities. iD Software also sees Quake Champions as a title that is designed for eSports for players of any level.
More info on Quake Champions will be revealed at Quakecon in August.
After Wolfenstein and Doom were brought forward a few decades, many felt it was time for Quake to get a brand new level of polish as well. Quake Champions’ idea of using different warriors with unique abilities sounds very in line with recent hero shooters such as Overwatch and Battleborn. Will the third time be just as magical for Bethesda?
